Fourth Class Blog

Fourth class have been very busy this year. They made a Christmas movie called The Naught Elf. The fourth class team won the Credit Union quiz in Cobh and have progressed to the next round in Cork next month.

The girls from fourth and fifth class have visited St. Al’s in Carrigtwohill for their school musical Grease.

They have participated in Be The I In Kind project for Friendship February. They are reading the novel Wonder which focuses on the theme of kindness. They are also doing rugby training with George Rasmussen which they are really enjoying!

The Great Island Cross Cup

Well done to all the pupils from Walterstown National School who participated in The Great Island Cross Cup today in Cuskinny Court. The pupils really impressed us with their cross country running and the fantastic atmosphere at the event could be felt by everyone.

Launch of Cobh Cross Country

Ruairi Mulvihill, Mr O’ Sullivan and event organiser Trevor Cummins at the launch of Cobh Cross Country event in Bellavista Hotel. The event takes place next Wednesday in Cuskinny and Ms Wales and 44 athletes are looking forward to taking part.

Grandparents’ Day 2024

Yesterday we welcomed grandparents to Walterstown National School to celebrate Grandparents’ Day. Mass was celebrated in the school hall and the grandparents enjoyed some refreshments before visiting their grandchildren in their classrooms.

A special thank you to the PA who provided the teas, coffees and cakes and to Fr. Tom for the beautiful mass. Thanks also to the communion children from second class who took part in the mass. It was a very special day which was greatly enjoyed by the pupils, grandparents and staff.

Board Games

Using the money which first and second class raised singing at Cork Airport in December we have bought a selection of new board games for WNS! The pupils are having great fun playing games such as Scrabble, Monopoly, Discovering Ireland and many more!
