School Reopening Times
As the summer break comes to an end, we’re excited to extend a heartfelt welcome back to Walterstown NS for the upcoming school year!
“The Great Wave”
As part of Creative Schools we recreated a famous painting – “The Great Wave Off Kanagawa” by Japanese artist Hokusai. Our artwork, “The Great Wave”, was made from tiles which we broke into tiny pieces to create a beautiful mosaic effect.
Sports Day 2023
We had a very successful sports day in Walterstown National School this year. A special thank you to the Parents Association who organised an ice cream truck which came to the school – a well earned treat at the end of a fantastic day!
Active Week 2023
We had a very successful Active Week in WNS this year. The pupils took part in many different activities such as skipping, soccer, dancing and parachute games. Please click the link on the next page to see a video of the children enjoying Active Week!

Welcome to our website. It is a great honour and privilege for me to be the Principal of this school and continue the fantastic work done by my predecessors. It is my vision to continue the tradition of the school in providing a holistic, inclusive education within a happy caring environment for all pupils and staff. We offer a range of activities from sports to IT, music to drama and much more to our students. As a school, we welcome and encourage parental and community involvement. I have an open door policy and I urge all parents to take the opportunity to discuss any issue with me so that we can move forward together. I look forward to working with all members of the school community as we strive to provide the best education to our students.
